Sing a New Song for the New Year :)

It is a New Year at Ikhaya LikaBaba!

2012 starts with 12 babies!

This truly brings us back to the meaning of Ikhaya LikaBaba which means House of the Father...with these bright little faces and unique personalities, it is never a dull moment in this precious home.

Well - Now it is time to sing a new song for the new year. A bright new start, filled will little adventures and hopes for the future.

In the case of our little ones - you can see that there is a captive audience on the little picnic table for a series of shows where our little ones show off their talent to their "little brothers and sisters". I was honored to be a part of it and hearing the little "bumblebee" songs with actions being belted out by our two little girls. One of those little girls is shown above even with her hand outstretched as she was singing away :)

And the most precious thing of all, is that this was not a staged event, but just a simple morning where the children decided they wanted to put on a show for each other and so excited about the new little babies that have joined their family in the past few months.

It has been such a blessing to be a part of Ikhaya and to see how these little ones grow more in confidence and knowing that they are loved to boost them forward in their lives.

Thank you to everyone who supports Ikhaya...it really means a lot, especially with the house getting filled so quickly. Thank you for trusting with us as we walked this road last year when God put it on our hearts to expand the home to double the capacity. Within days of getting the new staff on board, the house was filled so quickly with the needs of these little children who have endured such hardship at such a young age.

So, I hope this little insight into the lives of our children at Ikhaya has given you a glimpse of what your continued support allows us to give these little ones.

Starting with a new song for the new year!!
:)

God bless and monkey hugs from our babies!

iKhaya LikaBaba - The Father's House

This blog picks up from where Mel and Sean left off , after pioneering iKhaya right from day one .Almost 3 years ago, holding fast to a dream in their hearts , leading to one baby in their home, it has grown and grown and grown with much hard work, lots of challenges as they have faithfully built this home in love and incredible sacrifice and faithfulness-never losing sight of His call. iKhaya Likababa is a non- profit organisation, transition home for orphaned and abandoned babies in Empangeni, KwaZulu Natal,South Africa, Africa and beyond.
My dreams are to see these little children being nurtured and made whole again as develop into strong men and women of God, whilst being embraced in this family. I would love to see the Mothers and Fathers of these children being restored, supported, equipped and with hope in their lives again, walking with God.
This blog captures this journey of iKhayaLikababa and will keep everyone aware and involved in the lives of these little children.
